New framework agreement creates need for more employees at Haugalandet

04/22/2022

The contract is valid from May 2022 and is valid for 6.5 years including 2 option periods, each of 2 years. The contract provides opportunities for more local employees and further growth on Haugalandet, within both oil and gas and the renewable sector. We look forward to developing our collaboration with Aibel and contributing to the safe and efficient execution of construction projects at the yard in the years to come.

Aibel’s yard in Haugesund, where Bilfinger will deliver their services, has over 100 years of industrial history behind it. Today, it is one of the largest yards in Norway, and plays an important role in Aibel’s deliveries to the oil and gas and offshore wind industries.

“We look forward to continuing our close cooperation with Bilfinger. With this agreement, I expect us to work together to provide good and efficient deliveries within high standards of safety,” says EVP of Modifications and Yard Services at Aibel, Nils Arne Sølvik.

More work to come

-Bilfinger Nordics has over several years had a good and close collaboration with Aibel, both through direct deliveries and through ongoing framework contracts with operators both offshore and onshore, says Leif Helge Eriksen, Director Business Development at Bilfinger Nordics.

Eriksen also expects an increase in project activities at the yard during the term of the contract.

-In this contract, we’ll make full use of our digital solutions such as Mobile Worker and 3D scaffolding design tools. These tools will play an important role in implementing the contract in a safe and efficient way, he says.

Aibel’s yard in Haugesund delivers construction and assembly services to platforms and modules for nearly all of Aibel’s projects within the oil, gas and offshore wind industries. In addition, the yard provides services for upgrading and maintenance of ships, FPSO's and rigs.
